Privacy Policy
Draft — pending legal review.
This page describes SavrIT's actual data practices as accurately as possible, but has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. Do not rely on it as a compliance guarantee until it has been.

This policy explains what personal information SavrIT collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and/or phone number, and a securely hashed password — we never store your password in plain text.
- Household information: an optional household name, and which retailers you've favourited.
- Shopping data: the items on your shopping lists, and a record of when you run "Find Specials" along with the estimated savings.
- Billing status: whether your account is trialing, active, or past due, and identifiers from our payment processor — SavrIT itself never sees or stores your card details.
- Push notification tokens, only if you enable notifications.
We do not collect your location or GPS data in the current version of SavrIT.
What we don't do
- We never sell your personal information to anyone.
- We don't track your shopping behaviour for advertising purposes.
- We don't share your shopping lists or savings history with retailers individually — any insight we share with retail partners is aggregated and anonymised.
Why we collect it
- To run the core app: matching your shopping list against current specials and showing your savings.
- To manage your free trial and subscription.
- To send optional push notifications, such as weekly specials being ready.
- To keep the service secure and diagnose problems when something breaks.
Who we share it with
A short, complete list — not "and other partners":
- Paystack, to process subscription payments.
- Our hosting and cloud storage providers, to run the app and website.
- Anthropic's Claude, used only to read retailer catalogue images when we extract pricing data — this process does not involve your personal or shopping data.
How long we keep it
Shopping lists are archived rather than deleted when you remove them, so your own history stays available to you. You can request full deletion at any time — see the POPIA page.
Your rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time. See our POPIA page for the full explanation and request forms.
Children
SavrIT is intended for adults managing household shopping and is not directed at children.
